5 Simple Ways To Make Any Room Look Bigger

A box in a box in a box! While small quaint rooms are desirable for their coziness and low maintenance, they are also prone to look cluttered if not done up in a smart way. Here I share a few of my own tried and tested ideas for making a small room look bigger visually. ( Well at least!)

Go for light pastels. Pastels are always a safe haven while choosing wall colors. The darker the colors the more sucked in the room will look. White and some neighboring shades of white always look great in any space. They make the room look neat, nice and airy. They expand the space visually along with adding a neatness quotient to it. A soft pastel shade will definitely up the oomph quotient of your house and make it look bright and beautiful.

Furniture that raises itself less is always desirable in a small room. Because low height furniture allows for more visual space thus making the area around it look spacious.

Use curtains that rise high and up. Utilising  the vertical space draws the eye up, thus freeing up the much needed  ground space.

Use mirrors to reflect light and open up the space. This is one of my favourite ideas for livening up any bare wall . Mirrors add a touch of whimsy, sophistry and space all at once.Use them as an accent piece on the space over the sofas or in clusters around the house. Possibilities are endless.

What better way to set the mood for a cozy lived in ambience than using light? In the image, mum uses this gorgeous display of a ” branchy” branch with lights strung onto it  for an enchanted  ethereal corner.

Very nice article and right to the point. I am not sure if this is actually the best place to ask but do you folks have any thoughts on where to hire some professional writers? Thanks in advance 🙂

Hello Iola! Thanks a lot for all the kind words. Though I don’t know any writer personally, I know about some of my other blogger friends who look up some some writers on Fiverr. You may also check Upwork for some really good writers in there. Hope this helps.

My husband and i got very delighted Albert could finish off his basic research with the precious recommendations he acquired using your weblog. It’s not at all simplistic to simply always be freely giving guides which usually the rest could have been making money from. We really grasp we now have the website owner to appreciate for that. Those illustrations you made, the straightforward blog navigation, the friendships you can help to create – it’s everything sensational, and it is letting our son and us consider that that situation is awesome, which is pretty pressing. Many thanks for everything!

Short and crisp write up. Can you suggest some ways of using mirrors in living room wall ?

Talat November 7, 2017 - 6:27 pm

Thanks Sampurna! You might want to use small mirrors in clusters with interesting frames. Alternatively, you could also use it as an accent piece on the wall at the back of a sofa. If using a large mirror, with or without frame; both work beautifully.
Hope this helps. Thanks:)
