I don’t know about you, but my kids hate salad. For them, there’s no word more menacing than “salad”. One mention of a leafy green and they’ve already put a big Fat Y” on my carefully balanced lunch.

But what if you were able to create a medley of foods that gave a whole new meaning to the word “salad?”

Include cherries that kids could eat by the dozen and some nuts they love?

Invented by their dad, this yummy salad recipe might not be a traditional recipe, but this made our children fall in love with salad, while also getting in a hearty dose of good-for-you foods.

Toss them together for a lunchtime treat or as a side at dinner.
